I came back
From far away lands
Hoping to find fertile fields
Ready to rest my tired feet
Ready to rest my head
Hoping a warm fire will be burning
Awaiting my arrival
To find nothing I recognize
Barren roads
Empty lands
Unfamiliar faces
"this does not feel like home" my heart tells me
And though this is a hard truth to face
I know I cannot force this place to be
what it is not
We must know when we cannot stay

Our Path
There are times in our lives
Where we must walk alone
The comforts we are used to
Suddenly don’t feel like home
The people we relied on
Their hands no longer in ours
This is part of the journey
At some point,
we must put all the trust in ourselves
To the heavens above
That our path is guided
That the angels are with us
Even if we may feel alone
We must keep going
Because we hear a call

The Rose
Standing in the kitchen
I see a single soft pink rose petal fall from her body
I walk over to see she is opened
Full
Waning
I feel a pang in my heart
"I want you to live forever" I plea
I draw her face close to mine
Her beautiful perfect face
She welcomes me
Whispers reassuringly,
"this is the nature of life my love..

Answer honestly, truthfully
Know,
You deserve all that you dream of.
Listen for the answer..
Hold it dear..

Tested beyond what we think we are capable of
"Let me see who you are" life demands
We know what we are capable of
Way before we enter this life
Our belief in ourselves is strong enough to know
We can face the things we are facing
We can rise
And we shall
I wrote this on a day where I felt myself shrinking, wavering in the face of one of my greatest challenges. I wasn't sure if I was brave enough that day. Or the days to come. I didn't want to decide. I was afraid I'd get the answer wrong. I was afraid I would betray myself.
